“Young Women of Courage” Student Recognition Ceremony
Sixth Annual Awards Dinner for local high school senior girls that excel in the fields of Math, Science, & Technology
Held Jan. 27, 2008 at Tillamook Bay Community College
Each year, local math, science, and technology teachers from the three high schools in the county are asked to pick three female students, one from each category, that they feel most worthy of recognition. AAUW of Tillamook honors those young women with this annual ceremony. The parents, siblings, and teachers are invited to attend the program also.
AAUW encourages women to seek a higher education and in furtherance of that goal offers not only programs like this one, but also scholarships, community education programs, and one-on-one mentoring.
